  1. HOT CARS PCX CLIP ART COLLECTION

  3. The clipart will be copied to the
  4. "C:\softusa\vol310\homeoff\clipart\hotcars" default directory
  5.  
  6. HOT CARS is a collection of PCX format images of various cars and
  7. trucks.  The images are rendered in 256 colors, which requires a
  8. VGA color monitor and video card capable of displaying images in
  9. 256 colors.

  12. To view these files, you need a PCX viewer, or a drawing or paint
  13. program that supports PCX format graphics (such as Windows Paint).
  14. Open your PCX viewer or drawing or paint program, then click on
  15. "FILE" then "OPEN".  Specify the directory where the HOT CARS PCX
  16. clip art collection is located on your hard drive.  Then open and 
  17. view.

  22. If you downloaded these from America On Line, you will find them
  23. listed under \AOL25\DOWNLOAD\HOTCARS or \AOL30\DOWNLOAD\HOTCARS 
  24. (depending on which version of AOL you are using).
  25. You should find a list of PCX files with various names in the
  26. download directory under the subdirectory HOTCARS.  Choose one,
  27. then open it to view it.  You can then modify it, change it, print
  28. it, or capture it for use in a desktop publishing program.

  33. The clip art collection is downloaded in a compressed format
  34. (HOTCARS.ZIP), which AOL will automatically unzip after downloading. 
  35. If the file has not been unzipped, you will need to unzip it with a
  36. decompression utility such as PKZIP before the images can be viewed.

  41. HOT CARS is SHAREWARE, which means you must pay a $15 registration 
  42. fee if you continue to use any of the images in this collection after
  43. 30 days.  SHAREWARE is a "try it before you buy it" concept of
  44. marketing that allows users like yourself to try out various soaftware
  45. before you buy it.  It's also the only way a little guy like me
  46. can get my stuff into the marketplace.  Unfortunately, many people
  47. do not pay registration fees -- which is very discourageing to 
  48. authors like myself who have worked hard to create software and images
  49. for your enjoyment.  So be a good sport and do what's right.  Pay your
  50. registration fee.

  54. nothing.

  61. copy of NeoPaint 2.2 (an excellent multi-purpose DOS/Windows drawing
  62. program that's a lot easier to use than programs costing hundreds of
  63. dollars!), plus over 60 side view outline images of various cars,
  64. trucks and vans for you to paint and customize using the "stamp pad"
  65. objects I've loaded into NeoPaint.  These include over 30 different
  66. custom wheels, flames, engine parts, scoops and lots of other engine
  67. and body parts.
